The Entitled Sons: “We Want To Keep Things Interesting”

First up, we had to ask what they’d call their own reality TV show. Their little brother was quick to suggest “Four Handsome Men” – a title that was met with a healthy dose of sarcasm from the rest of the band. Confidence clearly runs in the family!
They’re no strangers to onstage mishaps, either. One particularly memorable moment involved an amplifier exploding and catching fire during a show. Rather than being completely mortified, the lads admitted that it actually felt quite cool. Rock ’n’ roll, after all!
Forgetting the words to a song is another hazard of live performance, even when you’ve played it hundreds of times. One of the brothers confessed to getting stuck repeating the second half of a verse four times, until the audience started giving him some fairly pointed looks. The message was clear: come up with some new lyrics, please!
Apparently, a bit of improvisation is part of the creative process anyway. The band sometimes start writing songs by making up lyrics and working out their meaning later. Occasionally, though, someone’s impromptu words can leave the others wondering whether they’re even singing the same song. It sounds like songwriting sessions could be just as entertaining as the live shows.
And then there’s Raf, whose approach to punctuality has become something of a running joke. According to his bandmates, the guitarist is late to just about everything and insists that arriving late is cool. The others aren’t convinced, suggesting that the real problem might be his inability to read a watch. Their proposed solution? A timepiece that spells out the time for him, with no complicated 24-hour clock to worry about.
You get the feeling that life on the tour bus will provide plenty more material.

The brothers might not agree on everything, but they certainly have plenty to say about music. Their individual tastes range from Muse, Radiohead and Led Zeppelin to Royal Blood, while Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Jack White both came up as dream additions to the band for a day. It’s an eclectic mix, and the lads enjoy the idea of what those musicians might bring to their sound.
Their opinions on The 1975, meanwhile, sparked a little debate of their own. Charlie made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of their music, although he’d still happily support them if the opportunity arose. He just wouldn’t be taking back his original comments!
That mix of humour, honesty and differing opinions seems to be part of what makes the band tick. And while the brothers may occasionally wind each other up, they’re united in their desire to keep making music that excites them.
The upcoming UK tour is a particularly exciting prospect because it will allow the band to reach places they haven’t had the opportunity to play before. Although they’ve kept busy with live shows and festival appearances, their touring schedule has often had to fit around the school calendar, with their youngest member, Laurie, having recently completed his GCSEs.
Now, there’s more freedom to get out on the road and explore new venues. Having already enjoyed some big moments – including selling out London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in April – the lads are looking forward to taking their music to places such as Shrewsbury and Leeds.

The band revealed that they have fresh songs ready for release in January and are keen to start playing some of the new material at their upcoming shows. Fans could therefore get an early taste of what’s coming next, alongside the songs they already know and love.
When it comes to their evolving sound, The Entitled Sons aren’t interested in standing still. Their music can move from heavy, energetic tracks to softer, more sombre moments, and they see that variety as an important part of their identity.
They admitted that getting different ideas to work together can sometimes be frustrating, but they believe that experimentation is what makes the process worthwhile. Rather than settling on one definitive sound, they want to keep changing, exploring new directions and finding out what works best for them.
Talking about the new material, they described it as more refined, with a growing sense of maturity and a willingness to try something a little more unusual. They’ve been taking a closer look at their songs as a collection, working out what each one needs and how the music fits together as they develop their direction as a band.
There’s one thing they don’t want to lose along the way, though: a great chorus.
The lads love hearing an audience sing their songs back to them, and that connection with fans is something they want to preserve, even as they experiment with different sounds. They’re keen to take creative risks while still making music that people can connect with, remember and sing along to.
It’s a balance between pushing themselves musically and creating those shared live moments – and one they’re clearly excited to keep exploring.
Looking further ahead, the brothers have their sights set on Europe. After playing a handful of dates across the continent, including shows in Berlin and Paris and the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, they’d love to organise a proper European headline tour in 2027.
Taking their music to new audiences beyond the UK would be another big step, building on the momentum they’ve created at home and giving them even more opportunities to develop as a live band.
For now, though, there’s plenty to look forward to on home soil. With the UK tour approaching, new songs on the horizon and a sound that continues to evolve, The Entitled Sons are ready for their next chapter.
And if our chat is anything to go by, audiences can expect plenty of energy on stage, a few surprises in the setlist and the same lively dynamic that makes these brothers such entertaining company off stage, too. Just don’t ask Raf to be responsible for getting everyone there on time!
